This is post number two from my grand adventures with Jen and Josh! After arriving in Aruba and walking around for a few hours, Jen and Josh came and picked us up to go do portraits around the island.  We started in the old gold mines and ended up on the beach with a divi tree! We had a blast chasing the sunset and getting some great portraits.  I have mixed in both the film and the digital images.  These sessions are a great way to start off any destination, and for me it’s a great time to get to know my surroundings and quality of light.  Plus Aruba weddings are just plain awesome.. Here are a few of my favorite images.  Enjoy!

So a little bit about Rock the Dress sessions … They can be many different things which is why *I* love them.  In this case, we were at a beautiful island and we knew on the wedding day we wouldn’t have enough time to go everywhere we wanted. Which is the case in hometown weddings too… Anyway because I was there a few days before the ceremony, we were able to go around different parts of the island that the two of them wanted for their pictures! It’s great in so many ways – they get more fabulous images, they get comfortable with my lame jokes, and we get to have some fun! (At least I have fun anyway haha)

If you come to the point in your planning where there are locations that you’d love photos taken, but it just won’t work out logistically, consider a rock the dress session! They apply to all weddings, not just destination.  Seriosuly! Think about it.  We also do them later for 1st anniversaries, or just a fun excuse to get dressed up again.  Contact me for more information at or go to the contact from on my main website –
